Dobson Endorses Huckabee: Why Now?

February 7th, 2008 | 1 min read

James Dobson is apparently going to endorse Mike Huckabee for President.
Now that Mitt Romney is out of the race, Dobson clearly doesn't have to risk offending those near him who supported Romney (I've been told that those close to him were pulling him toward both Huckabee and Romney).

It's hard to see what Huckabee stands to gain from the endorsement now that he is all but statistically out of the race for President.  If he wins out, he could win it but it's difficult to see that happening.  Of course, even if he manages it to make it close, Dobson now stands to gain much of the credit for it.

Either way, it's a curious play this late in the primary season.
