Amidst the big news of Mitt Romney’s speech comes the announcement that Charmaine Yoest, Director of Communications for Family Research Council, is taking a leave of absence from her position there to act as Senior Adviser to Mike Huckabee’s campaign.
This is a big win for Mike Huckabee. Charmaine is among the savviest people I have ever met, and extraordinarily articulate and intelligent as well.
Now that Joe Carter (Web Communications for FRC) and Charmaine have gone to work with Huckabee, can Tony Perkins be next?
Exciting developments for your candidate, although the first primary is still a month away. I have to reiterate that I commend your endorsement of Huckabee; he really is the only respectable Republican candidate. Regardless of who the Democratic candidate (Obama! Obama!) turns out to be, I honestly think that Huckabee would be a good President should he actually get the Republican nomination and defeat the Democratic candidate. I could live with that.
Generally speaking, the Republican candidates have been counting on Hillary to get the Democratic nomination to rally the base but the nomination of Obama would really throw a wrench in the works. Since we don’t live in pivotal primary states, I guess we will just have to wait and see.
And good luck to your candidate.
