Confession time: I was home-schooled my whole life, and it’s one of the things I am most passionate about (I think. It’s hard to say. I’m inordinately passionate about a lot of things). This morning I had the pleasure of reading this eloquent little post by an 8th grade girl on how home-schooling has influenced her life, apart from the educational benefits. I though it was quite touching. You should read it.

Homeschooling: An 8th Grade Perspective

Education is a complicated topic in many respects, but I think some things about it are simple. For instance, it’s not unreasonable to want every parent to ask the question, “What sort of environment will help my child really thrive?” and then act accordingly. This young woman’s home-schooling experience is allowing her to thrive.
