Sandra McCracken, “Songs From The Valley”

March 13th, 2018

By Matthew Loftus

Sandra McCracken just released “Songs from the Valley”, an achingly beautiful EP full of what you might expect if you took the songs that she wrote in the last several years just didn’t quite fit in her last two records (both of which you ought to buy). Musically, parts of it feels like some of her earliest work (that’s a good thing). Lyrically, it’s everything I’ve always loved about Sandra and more. She’s also releasing Lenten writings loosely reflecting on each song every week, which are also a real treat.
