About Mere O

By Matthew Lee Anderson

Welcome to Mere Orthodoxy. We are a group of moderately literate, conservatively oriented college-aged guys interested in narcissistically opining on issues of faith, culture, literature, history, or whatever else suits our fancy. No topic is out of bounds. We endeavor to take ideas seriously, and ourselves lightly. In short, we are motivated to become the next generation of theologically enriched, socially active Christians, to extend the tradition that has been passed down to us from men such as Drs. John Mark Reynolds, Fred Sanders, Moyer Hubbard, and a number of other men who fit this description. By combining robust intellectualism and cultural awareness, we are hoping to revolutionize our cultures--both our evangelical sub-culture and the broader American culture. At the center of our pursuit is Christ Himself. Indeed, Paul sums up our goal well--"That [we] might know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death so that we might attain to the resurrection from the dead." Join with us as we pursue this end.
