After bawling my way through Pixar’s [*UP*](http://adisney.go.com/disneyvideos/animatedfilms/up/?ref=mereorthodoxy.com)*,* I began to wonder if the [Establishment](http://www.pixar.com/?ref=mereorthodoxy.com) could do wrong.

Walt Disney is [dead ](http://www.snopes.com/disney/waltdisn/frozen.asp?ref=mereorthodoxy.com)and with him, the best of American entertainment, for young or old.

When the Disney Borg bought Pixar in 2006, my heart skipped a beat: more money, fine and good. But will the cold, cruel, “rapacious, soul-less” hands of Disney we came to fear during the [Eisner Era](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael%5FD.%5FEisner?ref=mereorthodoxy.com) choke the tender sapling of [Lasseter’s](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John%5FLasseter?ref=mereorthodoxy.com) imagination?

*Ratatouille, Wall-E,* and *Up* later, the public heaved a sigh of relief. Eisner’s conscience-free-vortex-of-greed was *gone,* and Lasseter had creative control.

But can they overcome the second peak of Parnassus — the [Disney Sucky Sequel ](http://www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2008/02/29/top%5F10%5Fworst%5Fdisney%5Ffilms?ref=mereorthodoxy.com)blues?
