This Veteran's Day, consider giving to Honor Flight, which provides free trips to the WWII Memorial for WWII veterans.
WWII Veterans are dying at a phenomenal rate (1200 per day), and many of them lack the funds to go and see our country's tribute to their sacrifice and service. Honor Flight aims to remedy that problem by partnering with commercial airlines and local chapters to ensure WWII veterans are able to visit their memorial before dying.
Donating is an easy, tangible way of saying "Thank you" to those who have gone before. And it's also a way of reassuring those who are currently serving that when they grow old, they will not be forgotten by us either. A culture that cares about its veterans is a culture that understands the price of freedom.
If you know of WWII Veterans that may qualify for Honor Flight (they are starting with those who have terminal illnesses until funds allow them to expand the program), put them in touch with this excellent organization.
