A recent discussion here at Mere-O ended with questions about the essence of evangelicalism. Enter Dr. Fred Sanders, theologian extraordinaire, who offers this dandy of a post on “Emphatic Evangelicalism.” Dr. Sanders was a professor and remains a hero, so I’m predisposed to agree with everything he says, but in this case agreeing is easy: he captures the tension between what is essentially evangelical and the reduced evangelicalism that is so common and easy to criticize.
